Trio Maritsa
Trio Maritsa is accordionist Jeremiah McLane, clarinetist Anna Patton and percussionist Todd Roach. The trio plays music from the Balkans, North Africa, the Middle East and France, as well as original compositions.
Jeremiah performs with Nightingale, Le Bon Vent, and The Clayfoot Strutters. National Public Radio selected his second solo recording, Smile When You’re Ready, in their “favorite picks” of 1996. Jeremiah teaches piano, improvisation and World Music at the State University of New York, in Plattsburgh, NY.
Anna Patton performs with the Bulgarian band Xopo, Brazilian band Paradiso, and Celtic bands Elixir and Beeswax Sheepskin. She has studied Bulgarian music, dance, and vocal music since 1996.
Todd Roach performs with the Istanbul Ensemble, Frederick Stubbs, Euphony Groove, Arabic violinist George Lammam and 35th Parallel. He has studied Middle Eastern and North African percussion instruments for the last seventeen years. In addition to being a juried artist and educator for the Vermont Arts Council since 2000, he is director of the Loft in Brattleboro.
