I am currently working on a choral composition commissioned by Burlington based vocal ensemble, Social Band. I have the good fortune to be working with a wonderful text entitled Restoration, a poem by Karla Van Vliet. This piece will be one of several by Vermont composer’s being performed next spring on March 29th and 30th.

2009 marks the 400th anniversary of the discovery of Lake Champlain by French explorer Samuel de Champlain. In commemoration of this event I will be part of several concerts and workshops in and around the Champlain Valley that honor the French musical and cultural contribution to New England, bringing together artists from both sides of the border. I recently received an American Masterpiece’s grant from the Vermont Arts Council to help make these shows possible.

February brings snow and ice to northern New England and global warming notwithstanding, this year will probably be much the same. For the past five years, The Clayfoot Strutters have had the good fortune to be able to go to Costa Rica where we run a week-long dance camp known as Pura Vida Dance Camp The dates are February 19th-26th, 2008, and yes there is still space!
